2018 Update
Keeping the Kids Busy
Shannon’s son is in Taekwondo, Boy Scouts, and band and her daughter is in gymnastics. “I’ve been watching her grow older and I’m excited for all of her new milestones but sad that she’s growing up so quickly.”
Crossing Finish Lines
Recently completed the 3M half marathon in Austin for the fifth time! She finished in two hours and five minutes.
Another Challenge on the Horizon
2018 Texas Water Safari for 2018 where she will paddle 262 miles from San Marcus to Seadrift, Texas… for the second year in a row.
LITTLE KNOWN FACT
Shannon recently completed the Texas Water Safari – a 262 mile kayak/canoe race that starts in San Marcos and ends at, you guessed it, the Gulf of Mexico. If the distance wasn’t enough to make your heart flutter, then picture this, competitors paddle through the night on dark treacherous rivers without stopping.
BACKGROUND
Originally from Houston but moved frequently growing up and lived in New Jersey, Virginia, and San Antonio before landing in Austin 12 years ago. She and her wonderful husband, Chris Issendorf, own a construction company, CSK Brick Pavers and Hardscapes, in operation since 2006.
When she’s not paddling across the state, Shannon is sprinting down Austin’s amazing trails. She’s completed several half and full marathons AND a 50 Mile Ultra Marathon.
Ultra marathon training isn’t the only thing keeping Shannon running, she has a son and daughter, Kyle and Kaylee, and the family wouldn’t be complete without their canine and feline companions, Lizzie, Sandy, and Stella.
SECRET WEAKNESS
Donuts… but if you really want to steal the show you need to track down one stuffed with icing.
